Armenia has been declared the winner of Junior Eurovision 2026, held in Malta. Nare received a total of 202 points with her song “Boo!”

Lucas Paulano from Spain took second place with 184 points, while Alec from France finished third with 165 points.

In the national jury vote, Armenia received 103 points. Cyprus and Albania awarded Armenia the maximum 12 points each. (Armenia’s national jury awarded 12 points to Cyprus.)

This year’s Junior Eurovision was held under the slogan “Join the Festa,” inspired by Malta’s traditional village festivities, which are included on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list and bring communities together through music, fireworks, and decorations.

Last year, 12-year-old Albert Armenakyan, who represented Armenia at Junior Eurovision, finished in fourth place.

It should be recalled that last year’s contest was won by Lou Deleuze, representing France, with the song “Ce monde.”

However, unlike the adult Eurovision Song Contest, the Junior Eurovision rules do not require the winning country to host the following year’s competition. The winner is also entitled to decline hosting duties.

Armenia first participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2007. That year, the group Arevik took second place, finishing just one point behind the winner.

Armenia’s first victory came in 2010, when Vladimir Arzumanyan won with his song “Mama.” Armenia secured its second victory in 2021, thanks to Maléna.

Last year, 12-year-old Albert Armenakyan represented Armenia at Junior Eurovision with the song “Brave Heart,” finishing in fourth place with 175 points.
